Chenelle Covin

Chenelle Covin is an award-winning social entrepreneur.

She is a proud alumna of Monmouth University where she received a Bachelors in Business and a Masters in Communications.

Miss Covin accomplished her first successful entrepreneurial endeavor by launching Chenelle Designs shortly after graduating high school.

At the time, the 17-year-old budding entrepreneur applied computer science skills, that she mastered with no formal training, to create a web development company that allowed her to work on projects with celebrity book author Larry Wilson Jr, musicians, and various organizations.

Shortly after web design and computer programming, Chenelle began to focus on branding, new media journalism, and public relations.

While working under her father’s tutelage of his media communications company Unheard Voices, Chenelle worked her way up from graphic designer to Editor-in-Chief; creating a cutting-edge image for the company and telling stories of the every day people.

Chenelle, along with Unheard Voices Magazine, received the NAACP Unsung Hero Award for facilitating a dialogue on social issues and creating positive narratives about people of color in the Asbury Park, Neptune, Long Branch, New Jersey communities.

She would later receive other awards including the Mullaney Entrepreneurial Award, Journalism award and recognition from Neptune Township and the State of New Jersey, CV Magazine Innovator Award, for her positive contributions to the community through her work with Unheard Voices and other initiatives.
